Mullagh House

This brief for this house was to design a universally accessible house for a family with a young wheelchair user. With all the accommodation on one level, including an integrated garage and generous room sizes to allow for adequate wheelchair turning spaces around furniture, the challenge was to create a single storey house, with a large footprint, that appeared more modest. The house was designed to maximise the path of the sun during the day, with full height glazing, giving light filled, bright living spaces which led out to patio spaces.
